Our home town
Indy is based in Englewood, so this is the yard type we see most. Englewood has many compact lots with older brick homes, alley garages and tight side gates. A small yard can still give you a clean lawn for the dog, a play space or somewhere to sit, if the levels and edges are right.
Access shapes the job. Old soil comes out and base material goes in by wheelbarrow, often through one gate or from the alley. Show us the route and we’ll plan the work around it.
Water from Englewood Utilities
Englewood runs its own water utility, Englewood Utilities, drawing from the South Platte River and the City Ditch. With Resource Central, the city helps residents replace up to 425 sq ft of lawn with water-wise planting for $1 per sq ft. That program is for planting, not artificial turf, so many homeowners pair the two: turf where the dog runs and kids play, and a program bed along the fence or front walk.
Rules are changing
In May 2026, Englewood’s city council gave a first reading to Council Bill 36, which deals with nonfunctional turf, artificial turf and invasive plants. We haven’t confirmed its final wording. If you’re planning a larger project, especially a commercial one, we’ll check where it stands before you commit.

A few things you might be wondering
Does Englewood's lawn replacement program cover artificial turf?
The program, run with Resource Central, replaces lawn with water-wise planting. It isn't a turf installation program. Check Resource Central's current terms; if you want both, we can plan turf for the busy part of the yard alongside a program bed.
Is Englewood changing its rules on turf?
In May 2026 the city council gave a first reading to Council Bill 36, which covers nonfunctional turf, artificial turf and invasive plants. We haven't confirmed its final wording, so check with the city before relying on it. We'll ask about it when we plan your project.
